What is Leon Caves?
Twenty-five minutes south of León, the village of Valdevimbre hides hundreds of cellars dug into the earth a thousand years ago. The doors are closed to tourism. We have the keys. Our private tours are designed for travellers who want a Spain that doesn't appear in guidebooks — limited to small groups, hosted entirely in English, with private hotel pickup in León.

An intimate feast deep beneath the vineyards
A long, intimate lunch inside an authentic clay cellar. Local León cuisine, unlimited regional wines and stories that don't exist in any guidebook. In winter, a wood-burning fireplace warms the cave.
A full day, just you and the winemaker
A full day in the Valdevimbre wine country, hosted privately by a local vintner. Vineyard walk, blending session, lunch in the cellar.
Why we do this
Leon Caves is not a tour operator. We are a León family who inherited the cellars our grandparents drank from, the recipes our grandmothers cooked, and the stories nobody else can tell. We open our doors a few times a week to a small circle of guests — never coaches, never crowds. We host a maximum of six. That is the limit.
Designed for international travellers
We collect you at your hotel in a private vehicle. No coaches, no schedules to keep up with. Just you and your party.
Every experience is hosted by a local English-speaking guide. Spanish, French and German also available on request.
We work only with family wineries that own their land. The wine, the food and the cave are all León — never staged for tourism.
Two guests minimum, six maximum. We host a single party at a time. Privacy is the experience.
